Children's Book Reviews

Posted here are books reviewed by area school children that are currently available in the Library.  More book reviews are needed.  All reviews must be on a book that is in the Children's Library.  Each review must contain the following:

Grade

School

Title

Author

Brief review (no more than two paragraphs) in the child's own words, with a brief overview of what the book is about (No spoilers please!), why he/she liked the book, and why he/she would recommend the book to others.

Title: The Tail of Emily Windsnap

Author: Liz Kessler

It is the story of a twelve year old girl who finds out that she is a mermaid.  Obviously her mother didn't give her the gene, so she sets off to find her father who is in prison because he married her mother.

1st Grade--John Hay Elementary                                                        

Title: Mrs. Watson Wants Your Teeth                                 

Author: Alison McGhee

A 2nd Grader tells a 1st grader that her new teacher has a purple tongue and earrings and a necklace made from baby teeth.  The 1st grader finds out that it is not that bad after all.  I loved this book because it was pretty good.  The author and the illustrator did an excellent job.  You should read it because it was 100% good.
