Breaking the Silence is an annual learning event sponsored by the Mental Illness Awareness Coalition. Mental illness strikes one in every five Americans in the course of a year. If shows nos regard for age, race, gender, antionality, income, or religious belief. Mental illness affects a person's total health and extends to the lives of family and close friends. Members of the faith communnity and the mental health community are valued allies in helping people get the care and support that they need. Breaking the Silence is intended to be a continued dialogue between the faith and mental health communities. |
