The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama, 19 June 2005...if you want to smoke your way to ill health you can do so in non-public venues. But you don't have any right to smoke in a public establishment, harming innocent bystanders.... We adopt these laws to help establish a legal basis for civilized behavior.... When people congregate, they must agree to behave in ways that preclude harming each other. Prohibiting smoking in public places is a move toward responsible behavior.
