146.970 Echolink Node
W4SKH-R
The
commands to access echolink and connect this repeater to other
repeaters, links or computer users are really quite simple. All the
commands are DTMF tones and are listed below. Please identify and
make sure the repeater is not in use BEFORE entering any DTMF
tones.
If you would like to connect
to another station and you know the node number simply send the node
number, for example if the node number is 57983 just send those numbers
via DTMF tones and it should connect to that station. If it does not
connect you may have to send the DTMF tones slower (or faster). We
tried to set it up so you could send or dial the number at a
reasonable speed but if you hold each tone too long it may not go
through correctly. (shorter is better) . After your QSO is complete
simply send # to disconnect then identify as you normally would
at the end of your last transmission.
There are, at last count,
3,594 stations on the Echolink system. That number changes daily but
gives you some idea of how many possibilities there are at your
fingertips.
P.S. There is a slight delay (approxamtly half a second depending on
the internet provider) in the time you transmit and the time the
recieving station actually hears the audio so a slower pace of QSO is
suggested
