Dr. Peter Blau, FASM – ORNL Distinguished Scientist Dr. Peter Blau has been named to the 2010 Nominating Committee.

Dr. Camden R. Hubbard, FASM – In 1969, ASM established the Fellow of the Society honor to provide recognition to members for distinguished contributions to materials science and engineering and develop a broadly based forum of technical and professional leaders to serve as advisors to the Society. ORNL Distinguished Scientist Dr. Cam Hubbard has been named to the 2011 Class of Fellows: "For exceptional leadership and innovation in applying X-ray and neutron diffraction methods in materials science, and for developing a world-class neutron residual stress capability at the Spallation Neutron Source."

We remember . . .

Gene Stansbury, FASM – Eugene E. Stansbury, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, after a brief illnes. He was active in the establishment of the Oak Ridge Chapter, served as Chapter Chair and was an ASM Trustee, and helped start the Student Chapter. In addition, he was an outstanding and respected Professor at the University of Tennessee.

Guidelines for Scholarship Requests . . .

New guidelines  – A new set of guidelines have been posted for students requesting monetary assistance from the Chapter to help defray expenses related to Summer Camps and/or Meetings. Contact Chapter Chair, Beth Armstrong, for details.
