Dr. Peter Blau, FASM – ORNL Distinguished Researcher Dr. Peter Blau has been named to the 2010 Nominating Committee.

Dr. Craig Blue, FASM – In 1969, ASM established the Fellow of the Society honor to provide recognition to members for distinguished contributions to materials science and engineering and develop a broadly based forum of technical and professional leaders to serve as advisors to the Society. ORNL Researcher Dr. Craig Blue has been named to the 2009 Class of Fellows: "For pioneering the development of advanced both black-body and plasma-based infrared processing technologies, and for application of advanced materials processing technologies in industrial applications."

Carus K.H. (Bud) Dubose – following his retirement from the ORNL Metals and Ceramics Division, Bud Dubose's photographs of East Tennessee scenes were for many years the centerpiece of our Oak Ridge Chapter of ASM plaques, presented with thanks to our many guest speakers from all over the world.

Jack Cunningham, FASM – Former Oak Ridge National laboratory Metals & Ceramics Associate Division Director John Edward "Jack" Cunningham, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, March 9. His career as an ORNL researcher and administrator, which began shortly after World War II, included significant contributions in the development of components for a number of research and test reactors. He was named a U.S. delegate to the 1955 Geneva Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy and was a member of the technical team that designed, built and operated the display reactor in Geneva, Switzerland. Cunningham was a fellow of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and the American Society for Metals (ASM) and received several patents, honorific awards and had 40 professional articles in journals and open-literature publications.
