What and Where

We meet year round at the Claxton Community Center on Edgemoor Road, East of Oak Ridge on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

If you would like to dance with us, wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothing. You do not need a partner. Most of our dances are line or circle dances; if we do a partner dance, we just invite one of our group to dance.

The first visit is free. After that, if you can donate $4 a visit, we are happy.

We have been collecting dances and dance music for years and play "78" records, "45" records, tapes and CDs each evening as we dance.

We are a recreational dance group so we perform only rarely.

Directions from Knoxville:
Take Pellissippi Parkway toward Oak Ridge. Drive through Solway and over the Clinch River Bridge. Exit onto Edgemoor Rd. (Hwy. 170E). Drive 3.8 miles, crossing over the Clinch River again.

The Community Center, which is a red-brick, former church building, with four white pillars, is on the right about 0.5 miles past the Bull Run Steam Plant. It is across the street from a BP Gas and Food Shop and sits back off the road. You will need to turn right onto a long paved driveway before you get to the building, which makes a big loop around behind the building to the parking lot in front.

From Highway 62 going toward Knoxville, take the Edgemoor Rd. (Hwy. 170E) exit. Drive 3.8 miles, crossing over the Clinch River. Then follow the directions above.
