Come join us as ORPCUG President Steve Peyrot presents a dozen or more of the very best freeware programs to be released in the past few months. No, we are not talking free junk, but some of the most incredible software that has been released for FREE. No junk, no time restrictions for registration, and no visa cards needed. Just great stuff!

Want to clean up those registry errors? Want to create PDF files without an expensive commercial product? How about a number of utilities that can help you undelete files that you accidentally trashed, or maybe a utility to help you edit file attributes, or even a de-fragmentation program that PC World rated higher than a $89 commercial product…and there is lots more…. After you get home from the meeting on the 21st, all the programs that were presented (and more) will be available for free download from our website on a special link that will be provided at the meeting.

As usual, there will be time at the beginning of the meeting for members to bring up problems that they may have encountered with their computers in the last month. Any other members who have experienced this type of problem can offer successful remedies that they may have found.

SPECIAL NOTE: The "SIG" Meetings at the Senior Center on an introduction to VISTA were continued for each Thursday during the previous month. At the last meeting, there was only one person in attendance other than the presentor. This may have been due to the fact that it was Valentine's Day. We will discuss at our February Meeting whether these meetings should be continued.

Your dues payment of $20.00 per member or for multiple members at the same mailing address are due for the year 2008. You may mail this payment to ORPCUG, P.O. Box 4241, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-4241, or bring it to this meeting and give it to our Secretary, Mary Uziel, who will be acting for our Treasurer, Edward Von Halle, temporarily. Ed was injured in a car accident recently, and he will have to be off his feet for the next six weeks or so. We wish him the best in his recovery and express our best wishes to his wife, Liz.
