The Meeting for Thursday, February 21, 2008, will be given by:Steve Peyrot, President of ORPCUG
On: The Very Best Freeware Programs
The Very Best Freeware Programs to be released within the past 6 months. (Best as voted by PC World, Computer Shopper, and APCUG)
Want to clean up those registry errors? Want to create PDF files without an expensive commercial product? How about a number of utilities that can help you undelete files that you accidentally trashed, or maybe a utility to help you edit file attributes, or even a de-fragmentation program that PC World rated higher than a $89 commercial product…and there is lots more…. The cost? FREE!!!!! After you get home from the meeting on the 21st, all the programs that were presented (and more) will be available for free download from our website on a special link that will be provided at the meeting. Want more? No meeting presented by Steve could ever happen without LOTS of door prizes… In fact, no one attending will go home without at least one door prize. Miss this meeting and you can hit your forehead like they do on the V-8 commercials… As usual, there will be time at the beginning of the meeting for members to bring up problems that they may have encountered with their computers in the last month. Any other members who have experienced this type of problem can offer successful remedies that they may have found. SPECIAL NOTE: The "SIG" Meetings at the Senior Center on an introduction to VISTA were continued for each Thursday during the previous month. At the last meeting, there was only one person in attendance other than the presentor. This may have been due to the fact that it was Valentine's Day. We will discuss at our February Meeting whether these meetings should be continued.
