Our Sister Cities

Sister city relationships were established between Naka Machi, Japan in 1991 and Obninsk, Russia in 1992. Both sister cities have connections in the area of nuclear energy. Our scientific city heritage has created a natural bridge to fostering cultural, civic and other relationships between our sister cities. Exchanges between the sister cities on many levels have taken place (see Sister City Activities). Expanding and continuing these relationships is what the Sister Cities Support Organization is all about!

What's here?..

We have information from both sister cities that will allow contacts and conversation between schools, clubs and other organizations with similar interests. Ongoing projects and special exchanges will be highlighted in our calendar of current events. We have selected pages in Japanese and Russian on the site to make our friends in Japan and Russia feel welcome to learn from the information provided here. Use the information to make contact with new friends in our sister cities! Questions? Contact us my email (see bottom of page).
