Today anybody who would like to go overseas can easily make travel abroad. Internationalization is not only limited to the level of a country anymore and is now coming down to the level of a small town and indivuduals.

Naka town also considers becoming an active member of the international world. As the first step to do it Naka town concluded a contract as "Sister Town" with Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA.

Oak Ridge is a city located in the southeast of Tennessee with a population of 30,000. The total area of the twon is about 238 square kilometers, equivelent to three times that of Naka town. It can be said that both towns are similar in that both have research laboratories for energy of nucleaus fission.

Naka town hopes that the twon people will deepen international underastanding by making town to town contacts based on international friendship through correspondence and home stays between children and exchanges of sports and cultural groups.
