Reception tonight for Russian visitors

A community-wide reception welcoming delegates from Oak Ridge’s sister city of Obninsk, Russia, will be held from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the conference room of the Cheyenne Ambulatory Center, 944 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge is hosting the reception, which is open to the public.

The Russian visitors arrived in the area Saturday and are staying through Sunday. The delegation is visiting Oak Ridge and Knoxville in hopes of adapting the “Second Harvest Food Bank: Hunger Relief Concept” project to Obninsk and other Russian cities that would benefit from developing a similar program for feeding people in need
