Cities International The Oak Ridge Sister City Support organization has been selected to receive the 2001 "Best Overall Program" award for cities less than 50,000 from Sister Cities International for our programs during 2000 with Naka machi, Japan and Obninsk, Russia. The letter from SCI announcing our award can be seen below. Congratulations to Oak Ridge, to our sister cities Naka machi and Obninsk and to all SCSO members and the citizen ambassadors in Oak Ridge, Naka machi and Obninsk who made this award possible through their dedication to our programs during 2000. It is our pleasure to inform you that your program has been selected to receive an award for Best Overall Program Under 50,000 in the Sister Cities International 39th Annual Awards. This honor is a tribute to the work and dedication of the people in your program and community as well as your sister citie to help improve international cooperation and understanding through participation in the Sister Cities program. The Annual Conference this year is from July 25 — July 28, 2001. SCI will present the award to your program representative(s) at the Lou Wozar Annual Awards Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta on Friday, July 27 at 12:30 pm.
