SCI Annual Conference
Lou Wozar Awards Luncheon
July 27, 2001

Oak Ridge Councilman Jerry Kuhaida accepted the SCI "Best Overall Program" Award at the Sister Cities International Annual Conference Lou Wozar Awards Luncheon in Atlanta on July 27, 2001.  Also attending the awards event representing the Sister City Support Organization were former Oak Ridge Mayors Ed Nephew and Walter Brown, Marese Nephew, Linda Brown (current SCSO President), Tom Row, Wanda Craven (past SCSO President), Delores Kuhaida and Ken Luckmann (past SCSO President) and wife Jerry.

Duplicates of the award will be presented to our sister city partners Naka machi, Japan and Obninsk, Russia.  We look forward to many more "best" years with help from our sister city partners!


Mary Jean Eisenhower, CEO of People to People International, gave the keynote address.

Councilman Jerry Kuhaida accepts the "Best" Award from SCI Executive Director Tim Honey.

Ken Luckmann represented SCSO at the "Award Winning Programs" workshop on Thursday, July 26.  He presented information about our organization and programs. The Chicago, Illinois and Rochester, New York sister city programs (also winners of "Best Awards" in 2001) were also on the workshop program.
