WELCOME

The Preschool Cooperative of Knoxville is a not-for-profit, parent-managed organization providing a high quality preschool and school-age program. A quality staff teaches the infant (6 weeks to 12 months), toddler (12-24 months), two-year-old, three-year-old, and four-year-old classes. We also offer a pre-K class for five-year-olds to get them ready for kindergarten.

Preschool Cooperative of Knoxville is an organization where a team effort between parents and staff creates a quality school environment. Our children are cherished and their differences are respected. The children are given the opportunity to explore their world and develop friendships with their peers. We believe that this loving environment helps children to develop their sense of self-worth, and supports their development as individuals. As a three star center we meet or exceed the State of Tennessee's guildlines for quality child care. Our curriculum utilizes the Creative Curriculum which supports a developmentally based approach to early childhood education.

The Preschool Cooperative of Knoxville offers a unique opportunity for parents and children. By being active participants in the program, parents send a strong message to their children that they care about their educational experience. Parents participate in our program by helping in many ways. They may assist in the classrooms by leading a special activity, story-telling, teaching art, cooking, music or science. There are also many areas outside of the classroom where parents can help.

The cooperative involvement of parents benefits the children, and offers the parents the opportunity to share ideas and build friendships.
