FYI - I think EQAB should be actively monitoring discussion about future development along the Melton Hill Lake waterfront.? There is one proposal from R&R Enterprises that the City got from an RFQ they sent out earlier this year.? Besides what has been in the Oak Ridger recently about the plan, I heard Josh Collins give a presentation at Wed. morning's Breakfast Rotary.? My reaction is that this is only ONE proposal and that it is a piecemeal approach to planning along this valuable asset to the community.? 

I strongly believe that EQAB should be encouraging the City to take a more comprehensive planning approach to this waterfront.? This would be a perfect opportunity to encourage form-based zoning.

A presentation on the R&R redevelopment proposal is supposed to be discussed tonight at 5:30 before the Planning Commission at the Municipal Building Training Room.? I have a schedule conflict tonight but I've heard/seen the proposal.? While there is talk of holding public hearing on this later in October, I think that EQAB should?discuss if and how we want to be involved in this important proposed development.? We could discuss this at our next sustainability planning session.? 

I believe there are a number of environmental issues that would be appropriate for us to address including impervious area, stormwater treatment, wetlands, etc.

If you haven't seen this R&R proposal, please consider going to the Planning Commision meeting tonight.
