Hike a new trail on the Black Oak Ridge Conservation Easement

There will be a hike on Sunday, October 19 to see the new opportunities for the public to hike on the Oak Ridge Reservation. Open to the public, this hike will cover a loop about 3.5 miles long on rough gravel roads with some steep hills.

This will be a chance to enjoy the last wildflowers of the year with botanist Larry Pounds. Meet at 1:30 p.m. at the trail head parking on Blair Road, north of the East Tennessee Technology Park (formerly K-25). (Blair Road comes off the Oak Ridge Turnpike near ETTP.) The outing is sponsored by Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning (a member of Community Shares) and Advocates for the Oak Ridge Reservation. For more information call 865.522-3809 or visit www.tcwp.org.
