Below (from Jackie Bernard) is a notice that was mailed today to all of the residents in the Southwood, Sweet Gum, and Shagbark area. 

A similar notice will also appear in The Oak Ridger on Monday. 

On Monday, the City received a communication from TDOT indicating (among other things) its willingness to consider an urban-type design for the Hwy 95 project -- without delaying bid opening. (I posted a few additional details in my blog.)

IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FROM STATE ROUTE 58 TO 

WESTOVER DRIVE IN OAK RIDGE , TENNESSEE 







Open Walk Review Sessions 



Citizens are invited to take advantage of an open walk review session on the subject State Route 95 improvement project. Review sessions will be held on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the City’s Central Services Complex located at 100 Woodbury Lane in Oak Ridge . There will be no formal presentation of the project design; however, the City Engineer will be available to explain the project’s original design and the proposed changes recently requested by the City. The construction of this project is proposed for bid letting in the Fall of 2009.

City Council Work Session 



On July 6, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., the Oak Ridge City Council will hold a work session on recent developments with reference to the subject improvement project. As with all meetings of the Oak Ridge City Council, this work session will be open to the public. The session will be held in the Social Room of the Oak Ridge Civic Center at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Special Meeting of City Council 



A special meeting of the Oak Ridge City Council will be held on July 13, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., in the Courtroom of the Municipal Building at 200 S. Tulane Avenue in Oak Ridge . At this meeting the Council will consider formal action in response to a letter from the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Transportation regarding options available to the City with reference to the subject improvement project. A copy of the Special Meeting Call is attached to this notice. 



Business transacted at any special meeting is limited to the subject(s) recited in the call.
