Subject: [Fornlist] FORNL Volunteer Help Wanted -- Science and 
EnergyResearch Challenge


The Department of Energy is having its inaugural Science and Energy Research 
Challenge
(SERCh) a national competition, which will be held Sunday, November 9 and 
Monday,
November 10 at ORNL.

Eighty five undergraduate students will present posters that reflect 
research performed during
DOE summer internships. The winners will be awarded scholarships.

Volunteers are needed to help with several aspects of the event:

* To assist with participants registration at hotels
* To accompany participants from the hotel to the ORNL facility
* To provide information about the competition
* To shepherd participants to and from breakout sessions, meals, competition 
areas, etc.
* To accompany foreign nationals on tours of labs or other facilities

I'm sure there will be other opportunities on the days of the event, but the 
above list is an
indication of what will be needed.

We would be honored to have FORNL members come out and help us one or both 
days. Please
let me know if there is any interest.
