"ORNL's Worldwide Leadership in Industrial Wireless Technology."
Wayne W. Manges, Manager, DOE's Industrial Wireless Program, ORNL
Abstract:
The wireless revolution sweeping through our personal lives is beginning to impact industrial
systems. ORNL has managed DOE's Industrial Wireless Program since 1999 and continues to
hold leadership positions in numerous technical fields and international standards bodies. Wayne
will describe ORNL's effort in industrial wireless since its inception as well as how ORNL
represents the state of the art in industrial wireless technology in China, France, Australia,
Canada, and US sites. Wayne will describe activities in development of the new ISA industrial
wireless standard, ISA100, poised to be the equivalent of analog 4-20ma for the 21st century.
