Greetings, Friends. Please join us for another interesting and certainly
very salient and topical program:

January 21, 2009 Friends of ORNL Lunch/Lecture
"Establishing New Partnerships with Industry"
Alan Liby, Manager of Industrial and Economic Development Partnerships, ORNL

Abstract:
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory is home to a remarkable collection of
scientific facilities, equipment, and researchers that rivals the best in the world.
Among the Laboratory's missions is the effort to make the new technologies
developed with these unique resources available for national and regional
economic growth through technology commercialization. The Oak Ridge Science
and Technology (S&T) Park at Oak Ridge National Laboratory will facilitate new
collaborations with industry and university partners, forming new pathways to
move cutting-edge technologies into the marketplace.

The first phase of the S&T Park is now open for business. Opportunities abound
to work side by side with ORNL researchers to address critical scientific
challenges and to grow new companies that will strengthen America's
competitiveness for decades to come. When totally built out, the S&T Park will
support a total of 500,000 square feet of offices and laboratories in a campus
environment consistent with ORNL's modernization efforts.
