To FORNL Members:
There is a meeting on May 6 pursuant to the National Historical Preservation Act at which proposals for saving historically important buildings in ORNL's central campus (the area that includes the 3000 area buildings) need to be presented. FORNL has applied to be a consulting party and has also been invited to participate with the Oak Ridge Heritage and Preservation Association (ORHPA) which is formally a consulting party in such proceedings. FORNL needs to voice a proposal for saving any buildings in the central campus area that need to be saved for historical purposes. The Graphite Reactor will be saved, but, as best as we can tell, no other building in that central campus area is slated for saving. We would like to get ideas on which buildings should be considered and why they should be considered. Would you send your thoughts by e-mail to Bob Hightower (hightowerjr at comcast.net) before May 5 for consideration.
Bob Hightower,
President FORNL
