brothers -

fall camporee was good except for the rain on saturday morning, which quit be
about 10:00 am. the activities and demonstrations were interesting, i am
told. (i did not see them). a lot of service work was done, in the form of
carrying pine limbs and trunks and feeding them into a big chipper. this opened
up a new camping area for groups such as ours. the park service waived the fee
because of the work we did.

chris prince and michael brill and a couple of others ran the o. a. store.
j. d. stombaugh brought the stuff. they sold everything they had except for a
few candy bars and a few tee-shirts which are extra big size.

our drummers (j. d., cameron, michael, and karl) opened the campfire on
saturday evening. nobody understood a word they sang.

remember the lodge leadership development conference on saturday, october
9th, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. the purpose is the training of lodge and chapter
officers and committee chairs. this is important.

also remember the election of lodge officers and the lodge executive
committee meeting on sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm (or is it 3:00 pm?).

also remember the chapter gatherings on every thursday evening at 7:00 pm at
concord united methodist church on roane drive. the business meeting is on
the second thursday, which will be october 14th. we need to start ceremonies
practice, and continue drumming practice. also, have you volunteered to chapter
chief kenny jacobs to serve on a committee?

yours in the brotherhood -
