Each year, well over 100 Scouts and Scouters are honored with membership in
the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. You may have seen
messages recently about the Fall Fellowship at Camp Buck Toms, Sept. 10 -
12. (I hope to see you there.) You may also notice that everyone going
through the Ordeal wears their flap as a sign of their membership in the Order.

There is, however, another part of membership. Each year, all of us pay our
annual BSA membership. We do this without question. Each year at this
time, active members of the Order of the Arrow pay their annual dues of $7.00.
How do the rest justify not paying their OA dues, after being honored by its
membership?

I am going to ask, on your honor as a Scout, to go by the Council Service
Center and pay your dues. After all, it is only right.

Ron Pearman
Toqua District Chairman
