It’s Official!

Last week Governor Bredesen signed the appropriations bill making funding for TEL official. Contained in the bill are these words:


Item 57. In addition to any other funds appropriated by the provisions of this act, there is appropriated the sum of $1,000,000 to the Secretary of State for the sole purpose of acquiring additional databases for the Tennessee electronic library. 


So now it’s official. And now it’s time for official thank-you’s. If you haven’t already done so, please drop Secretary Darnell a note, either via email or US mail, thanking him for including this request in his budget back in January. Then write to your Legislators, letting them know of our success and thanking them for their part in it.

And let them know they haven’t heard the last from the Library Community!
