More TEL News!
We now have InfoTrac Science and InfoTrac Custom Newspapers available to users of the Tennessee Electronic Library. Below are descriptions of each database:
InfoTrac Science was specially created by Gale to address the needs of Tennessee State Library and Archives. Gale has carefully hand selected over 1600 titles ranging from "A Quarterly Journal of Operations Research" to "Zoomorphology". No other library worldwide has this custom collection--putting TEL miles ahead of all the others! Literally millions of articles are available in both PDF and HTML full-text with no restrictions. Researchers are able to find accurate information quickly. InfoTrac Science integrates with ISI Journal Citation Reports, Web of Science, and JSTOR. InfoTrac Science also includes the content of General Science Collection.
InfoTrac Custom Newspapers, with an innovative Web-based, full-text ASCII-formatted newspaper database, lets your patrons electronically search articles by title, headline, date, author, section or other assigned fields. With InfoTrac Custom Newspapers, libraries are provided with a collection of more than 140 cover-to-cover newspapers from around the world. Users receive an electronic edition featuring the articles they need.
Understanding current events depends on access to relevant articles printed in response to events when they happened. TEL users can:
*Receive more accurate results with proper name indexing;
*Use section searching to retrieve articles from specific newspaper sections;
*Compare opposing viewpoints on controversial issues;
*Get first-hand accounts on historical events;
*Improve genealogy research through proper name indexing;
*Study current events as they are reported.
Spread the word!
