Battle Ground Academy, an independent K-12 school in Franklin,
Tennessee, is advertising for an upper school librarian, beginning with
the 2008-2009 academic year.  Each division within BGA has its own
library which specializes in meeting the needs of that division.  The
upper school library focuses on the needs of students in grades 9-12 and
their teachers.  The librarian in each division library is attached to
the faculty of that division and, as such, reports to the appropriate
division head.

 

The BGA Library (comprised of the three division libraries) functions as
a semi-autonomous entity under the supervision of the Director of
Libraries.  The Director of Libraries, in consultation with the
librarians, works with the school administration to establish the
library budget.  The Director of Libraries serves as the administrative
liaison to monitor the library budget, library policies, library
operational guidelines, and any other matters affecting the library.
Division librarians are responsible for the collection development
within their respective libraries. Budget maintenance, ordering, and
cataloging are centralized services within the library under the
supervision of the Director of Libraries.
