Hi Patty,
 
This new TEL Web page (www.tntel.info ) is designed primarily for Tennesee residents who are accessing TEL from a location other than their home library.  When vendors other than Gale were awarded TEL contracts we realized that it would be necessary to provide one portal for the three TEL vendors, given that Gale does not allow content from other vendors to link to their interface.  Many libraries have customized their Web pages to link directly to these three TEL vendors already.  This new page (www.tntel.info)  serves as a tool for (1) those libraries that have not yet created direct links to the TEL databases and (2) TEL users accessing TEL from a location outside a library.  Ultimately, this page will also provide links to TEL news, training and marketing materials, and Web sites of interest to students, teachers, and librarians.
 
Your onsite usage statistics for POV Reference Center and NewsBank will be tallied via IP authentication (through the username/ password that these vendors have provided to you). Your Gale stats are counted through your direct URL assigned to your library.  If you have not done so already, you may want to create a direct link via your unique Gale URL on your Web page in order to continue to generate Gale stats for your library.
 
I have decided to post my response to your question to various listservs to answer the questions of others in this regard.  Please let me know if you need additional help.

How does this work for tracking usage statistics for each library, and providing this information to the libraries.  I currently get a usage report emailed from Gale each month.  I have userid/passwords to log on to Newsbank and EBSCO for usage of those databases.
