[Tasl] required reading and AR???

Hello~
It's the end of the school year and I have to determine some nominees for awards day. In the past, I have run my classrooms listing to determine who has read the most, as reflected in AR points.

This year I am quite disappointed at the results. Seems as though the teachers are not encouraging students to read and take AR tests. For me, I quite an expense to buy the AR tests and code the books.

Here's my questions for you all

1. Does your school have a policy on the number of books the students are required to read?

2. Does your school have a DARE or quiet reading time for all the grades and teachers.

3. Do you have AR in your middle school??

Once again I do appreciate your response to my questions. My library will close this Friday (May 16) and I will have 3 days for inventory, in addition to Honors Day and other end of the school year activities.

Thanks,
