I have received several emails explaining the links in an email I forwarded
to you from ALA are blocked at your schools. I very well understand that
problem. There is not much at all that I can do. However you may be able to
help provide the impetus for change in your school system. Let people in
your system know when sites are blocked that you need access to. Especially
those that will help us in our professions or those that will help us
provide information and services to our patrons/students & teachers. There
is surely some tech person or some supervisor in your system that you could
make your voice known to, expressing a wish to have these sites reconsidered
for filtering.
In the meantime if you can't access these sites at your work location, could
you please respond on your internet connection at home or the public
library. Your input in these information gathering surveys is critical to
ALA/AASL. They are our voice for us in places that our voices singularly
could never reach. Thanks for your dedication to our profession and to the
students we serve.

You see, I don't believe that libraries should be drab places
where people sit in silence, and that's been the main reason
for our policy of employing wild animals as librarians.
