Good Afternoon,

My name is Daniella Smith. I am the Research Program Coordinator in the PALM Center at Florida State University. I am sending this message on behalf of Dr. Nancy Everhart. I am writing because Dr. Everhart is planning to conduct a survey of National Board certified media specialists this summer. We are trying to find as many participants as possible. Could you please consider sharing our request with your state association members via email or listserv? I have pasted it below. Thank you for your time and any assistance you can give us.

Sincerely,

Daniella Smith

Greetings,

If you are a National Board Certified school library media specialist, please consider responding to this message. As an accomplished educator, you are being invited to participate in a research project being conducted by the PALM Center at the Florida State University College of Information. We are interested in gathering information from National Board Certified school library media specialists on how they are integrating technology in their schools. While there are no direct benefits to individual subjects, we hope the information obtained will help national organizations, policy makers, and researchers further articulate this role and advance school library media programs. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with participation. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any of the questions, just skip over them. You can stop answering questions on the survey at any point.

It is very important for us to learn your opinions so that we can better articulate the role of the school library media specialist in technology integration. Your survey responses will be strictly confidential to the extent provided by law. Your name and contact information will not be shared with anyone outside the research project. All information from the study will be presented in the aggregate: no individual responses will be used.

If you would like to participate in this research project, please send your email address, school address, and name to FSUPalmCenter at gmail.com. I am sending this to a number of lists. Please excuse the cross posting. Thank you for your help.
