New TVA Documentary Available Free to Libraries
Libraries throughout the Tennessee Valley are invited to order free copies
of ³Built for the People,² a new documentary on TVA.
The film is directed by Sean and Andrea Fine, winners of numerous national
and international awards. ³Built for the People² was produced by BVI, an
organization of TVA retirees, in concert with the Documentary Channel.
The film traces the history of TVA, beginning with the creation of the
agency by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933. The directors use historical
photos, film clips and high-definition footage to tell the story. Beau
Bridges is the narrator.
The film was recently selected by the National Archives for a free public
showing in Washington, D.C. To see a preview, go to
