Tree-Cycling Program:
City of Knoxville and Knox County residents can dispose of their Christmas
trees by taking them to one of three county convenience centers after
Christmas. Residents will
have until sometime around the second week of January to take their tree
to one of these centers.
Trees must be clear of any decorations. In addition, the County
holds a one-day event, usually on a Saturday at the beginning of January,
where people can receive mulch for bringing in their tree. Call the County Solid Waste
office at 215-5865 for more information.
Non-profit Organizations:
Ijams Nature Center
Generally, Ijams will accept Christmas trees from December 26 until
mid-January. The trees will
either be used to provide shelter for animals or for mulch on their
trails. Call Ijams at
577-4717 for more information.
