Boo at the Zoo 2007

Here is the scarecrow that KRC made and had on display at Knoxville’s Zoo this past October. It is made of all recycled materials. Being creative with old materials can be lots of fun!

Children’s Festival of Reading

It was a fun day at World’s Fair Park for Knox County children on June 2nd. They were busy listening to stories, watching puppets, making crafts, learning, exploring, and playing in the fountains. They even got to go inside KRC’s replica Purple Paper Eater. When they got tired of the PPE many kids came over to the booth to learn how to make their own little book out of a piece of used paper(one-sided) or guess how many aluninum cans are in our block of crushed cans. Here are some pictures:

This picture above is Roger. He is our model Knoxville recycler. He knows it and does it!

These three siblings were having fun writing in the books they.

Knoxvile Zoo

KRC was at the Knoxville Zoo on Earthday, April 22nd to participant in the American Zoo Association’s Party for the Plant. We made recycled paper with kids visiting the zoo. Please check out the pictures below the EarthFest pictures.

EarthFest 2007

We had a great day at EarthFest this year. It was a beautiful, busy, and fun day. We enjoyed talking to all of you that stopped to visit or ask a question. Feel free to email if you have any more questions, comments, or concerns. It is important to us to learn more about what Knoxville is interested in recycling. The three big questions at EarthFest this year for us was: where can I recycle my non-rechargable batteries, why doesn’t Knoxville have curbside recycling for taxpayers, and where can I recycle all plastics 1-7? We are looking into all of these concerns. EarthFest goers also enjoyed playing Mega Chess and disc golf with Pluto Sports. We want to thank Pluto Sports for coming out enjoying the day with us. Contact them if you are interested in playing more disc golf. Thanks again to everyone for showing your support. Here are some pictures:
