Business Services:
Office Paper Recycling Service:
KRC offers an Office Paper (and more) Recycling Service for
area businesses. KRC will
work with any size business to set up recycling bins in their office and
coordinate a pickup schedule.
With this service, KRC picks up mixed paper, aluminum cans,
plastic bottles, cardboard, cell phones, old computers and other
electronics, and more, just ask.
Participants in this program simply put all of their paper
materials into a bin and let KRC pick it up from your facility. Please
click here for more information on our Office Paper Recycling Service.
Community & Educational Programs:
24 Hour Recycling
Hotline:
The hotline serves as an informational source that people can call to
hear a recording of pertinent recycling information for our area. The recycling hotline operates 24
hours per day and accepts hundreds of calls each year. Call the hotline at 865-521-9900.
Annual Recycling
Guide:
Starting in the spring of 2006, we created a comprehensive recycling
guide for citizens. This
guide, which was updated in the Spring of 2007 contains the most up to
date recycling and waste disposal information that we have on hand at the
time of printing. The guide
serves as a reference source that citizens can keep in the home. Please call us at the office at
865-525-9694 or email katiekrc@comcast.net
to obtain a recycling guide.
Quarterly Homeowner
Paper Collection:
Our homeowner paper collection events allow individuals and small
businesses to bring their mixed paper for proper disposal and recycling
at a convenient location for FREE!
In the past we have had these events at area office supply stores
such as Staples and Office Max and community establishments such as the
John O’Connor Senior Center and TN Valley Unitarian Universalist Church.
Cell Phone
Recycling:
Cell phones are collected at our Vandeventer Ave. office location as
well as at several locations of our customers. We ship the cell phones and accessories to an
organization called CollectiveGood
that accepts them for reuse and recycling.
Earth Fest:
Earth Fest is a city and county
wide educational and entertainment event that celebrates Earth Day. This event takes place in April
every year and KRC has been a proud participant and sponsor for the past
several years. KRC helps to
plan and prepare for this event every year by serving on Earth Fest’s
steering committee.
Quarterly
Newsletters:
Each quarter KRC publishes a newsletter filled with the latest
information about recycling in our area and about our organization. We send this newsletter out to
our KRC members, community leaders, relevant organizations and customers
of our Office Paper Recycling Service.
Recycling
Presentations & Displays:
KRC is called upon by the community at large to help spread the word
about recycling and proper waste management practices. We have a display chocked full of
useful information that we take to various community events. In addition, we attend meetings
of neighborhood organizations and various other groups to increase member
awareness about recycling and waste minimization. Give us a call if you are
interested in having us come to your organization: 865-525-9694.
Website Maintenance
& Development:
KRC prides itself on providing comprehensive and useful information
to the public on recycling and waste management practices. The use of this website is an
intricate part in our mission of spreading the word about recycling in
our area. We hope this
website will serve as a helpful place for people to find out about the
recycling opportunities in our community. For any problems email Katie at katiekrc@comcast.net
