WHAT DO SPONSORS DO?

Sponsors are the backbone of our program, and Bridge could not fulfill its mission without them. In an average year, sponsors contribute upwards of $140,000 in time and financial support. Once a group decides to sponsor, Bridge offers training and orientation to the group and ongoing support throughout the 90-day sponsorship experience. Our sponsors have at their disposal our comprehensive Sponsorship Training Manual, which guides the organization of the Sponsorship Team.

How to Get Involved

  1. Be a leader in your church to spearhead involvement in this unique ministry. Be the first to offer your time!
  2. Join our Volunteer ESL Tutoring Program!
  3. Plan a Sunday School class or study group series on refugee and immigration issues.
  4. Plan a joint event with a church whose cultural heritage is different than yours.
  5. Promote diversity and understanding. Invite a refugee to speak at your church about their experiences. Include diverse elements in worship, .e.g., hymns, dances, food and music.
  6. Explore and celebrate the cultural history of your own congregation.
