Summary of Court Watchers Data
At the November 2000 RID Board meeting, information was provided by former Court Watcher's Database Administrator Ron Turpin on samples from the court watchers' database, which covers more than ten years of data. He reported to Kathy Miller, who has taken over the database administrator position, that he has found the picture provided by the chart to be constant regarding the disposition of cases in Anderson County. This information is provided to illustrate one major finding. More than half of the court's resources (52%) are expended in two areas: cases, which are continued (32%), and cases which are reset (20%). Until these areas are addressed, many of the other categories do not become statistically significant.
