Board member Rescues RID

The treasurer‛s report was not very good at a RID board meeting in Fall 2005. The lack of funds had kept the newsletter from being printed and mailed, among other things that would just have to wait. There just wasn‛t enough money. Wendy Williams, a RID board member for several years, had a little “surprise.” After retiring from ORNL, she would receive a “one time” fee for consultation work.

Wendy had decided to donate this money to RID, $5,000 to be exact! This will enable RID to continue with the newsletter, including copying and postage costs, and get any equipment that might be needed for our booth at the Secret City festival, etc. We are now able to continue to get our message to the public — that impaired drivers are a threat to everybody and they need to be stopped!
