Secret City Festival 2006

The RID booth enjoyed another successful year at the Secret City Festival held on June 16 and 17. With warm sunshine both days, we had a record crowd estimated around 20,000. Adjacent to the RID booth, we displayed a car that had been involved in an alcohol related accident. This proved to be very“eye-catching.” It even had the beer bottles in the back seat! People were surprised to learn that we had NOT “staged” this and put the bottles in ourselves. Many parents used this display to warn their children about the dangers of drinking and driving. They were overheard saying, &8220;See, that is what happens when you drink and drive!”

We would also like to thank Jeff Watson, owner of Quality Towing, who provided the car, and Michael Dabney who delivered it with a tow truck.

Plans are already in gear for next year’s festival.
