The Tennessee State Lectureship convened at the Glenstone Lodge, in
Gatlinburg, Tennessee, September 7-9, 2006. It was a glorious
weekend for nearly 100 registered attendees. This year’s lectureship was
hosted by the East Tennessee Area Churches of Christ – Alcoa, Central, McDonald Drive, Scarboro, and Sevier Drive, led by
James Steele (Scarboro), as the overall Event Coordinator.
The
attendees
were spiritually uplifted and edified by sermons and workshops
revolving around the 2006 conference theme, “It’s All About Him.” Discussion areas focused on how Jesus must be at the center of our
purpose, our patience, our prayers, our promises, our lives, and our
congregations.
Saints who have
inspired others to walk the Christian walk – “Hard Fighting Soldiers”
and “Legends” – were honored for their service, dedication, and shining
examples. Six recipients of the Legend Awards and five recipients of the
Hard Fighting Soldier Awards were recognized during the formal banquet.
The life and the
light of the Churches of Christ must always be preserved, as we strive
to glorify, edify, and evangelize through similar conferences throughout the year.
