How do I
get practice fields/times?
Every season SCOR submits field requests and proof of insurance to the City
and to Oak Ridge schools. Once field requests are approved, there is a
pre-season coaches meeting where teams sign up for practice fields, with
priority going from oldest to youngest teams. Please do not practice on
City or School fields until paperwork is completed and a permit is granted.
What
pre-season paperwork do I need to complete?
If you are going to play in the East Tennessee Youth Soccer League, you
need to submit a league
application directly to the league president
that includes which weekends your team does not wish to have league games
scheduled due to tournaments or other commitments. These are generally due
in early August before the Fall season and early February before the Spring
season.
For the team, you need to
submit a player roster
to the SCOR registrar
with the appropriate fees. This should be done by late July. For each
player, you need to have a:
current
notarized medical release form
copy
of birth certificate
parent
signature on City of Oak Ridge release form
player
commitment letter (copy sent to registrar)
a 1
inch square picture of the player for the player card
How do I
add (or drop) a player to the roster after the season has started?
Previously unregistered players can be added to a team roster by
having the player and parents complete a player commitment letter and
turning into the registrar with
the appropriate fees. There is no charge for dropping a player as long as
the player card is turned in with the drop form.
Can I use
guest players from other registered teams?
Guest players are allowed as substitutes for missing team players in league
games, up to 3 per game. Tournaments each have their own rules concerning
guest players. Guest players are subject to recruiting rule restrictions,
discussed in the next question.
Recruiting
restrictions
Recruiting of registered competitive players on other teams, including the
use of guest players, is restricted by Policy 26 of the TSSA, and can be
found here.

What do
we need to bring to league/tournament games?
After your roster is submitted by SCOR and accepted by TSSA, you will get
back player cards for each player. Affix a one-inch picture of each player,
have the player sign the card, and have it laminated. The roster, player
cards, along with the notarized medical release forms, are required at all
games. You should have a copy of the roster to give to the ref. The
notarized medical release forms should also be present at all practices. To
simplify the process of making sure everything gets to the field, most team
managers construct a notebook that contains:
birth
certificate copies
player
cards
team
roster copies
notarized
medical releases
What is
my role on the SCOR Board?
Team managers serve as voting members of SCOR. They therefore have a vote
on elections and matters voted upon at SCOR board meetings.
How do I
file a medical claim form for an injured player?

within and outside of the Knoxville area.
Do we
need to schedule our own refs, pay them?

in Oak Ridge, he will arrange for refs and assistants for all home games.
For away games, the opposing team is responsible for providing the
referees. For all games, home and away, both teams split the fees. Ref
rates are provided in the latest Knox Metro Youth Soccer League rules which
can be found here: Current League Rules
How do I
cancel a scheduled game or (re)schedule an additional game in Oak Ridge?
The East Tennessee Youth Soccer League has recently begun fining teams for
canceling or re-scheduling games except for inclement weather or field
closure. To change or cancel a
game, a form
must be submitted to the East Tennessee Soccer League President.
Can I
schedule a practice/scrimmage for my team at Katie Hunter, LaSalle, or Milt
Dickens?

resolve team disputes concerning fees, playing time, selection of a coach,

team meeting may be necessary. If the team discussions prove
unsatisfactory, you may bring the matter to the attention of any Officer of
SCOR by means of a written complaint. The bylaws of the constitution
detail how SCOR will handle a written complaint.

tournament, though case-by-case exemptions may be granted. This tournament
is the principal fund-raiser for the club and profits are being used to
