Scarboro Learning Center

"It Takes A Village To Raise A Child"

About Us

Scarboro Learning Center was opened in September of 1950 under the sponsorship of the United Council of Church Women of Oak Ridge (now Church Women United). The center was founded to assist working parents of lower economic means with affordable quality childcare. Over the last half century, SLC has served thousands of children whose lives have been improved due to the center and its dedicated staff. The center's mission, vision and goal statements are all designed to provide each student at the day care with an optimal opportunity for educational and social success.
