"It Takes A Village To Raise A Child"

SLC Programs

Karate- Teaches children discipline and provides a relief from daily stress through physical activity.

Enrichment Team- Program includes storytelling, mathematics, science and other development topics.

Healthy Steps- This program is conducted by representatives from the University of Tennessee. It focuses on healthy eating and exercising.

HABIT- Involves Therapy Animals visiting the center to show children how to relate to animals. The University of Tennessee hosts this program as well.

Go Green- This program highlights the importance of living green. It is conducted by IJAMS Nature Center and focuses on recycling, reusing and composting.

Creative Movements- This program is conducted staff members and serves as a form of physical education for the children.

Ivy Reading Program- Staple program at SLC conducted by members of AKA Sorority, Inc. Focuses on one-on-one and small group activities to improve reading levels.

Joyful Reconcilers- Reading program for preschool children conducted by community organization.

Caris Healthcare Program- Involves children participating in arts and crafts projects for individuals in Hospice program.

Music and Movement- This program is conducted by SLC staff and allows children the ability to enjoy music and dancing.
