SCARBORO DAY CARE CENTER

ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY AND PURPOSE

The Scarboro Day Care Center was opened in September of 1950 under the sponsorship of the United Council of Church Women of Oak Ridge (now Church Women United). The center was founded to assist working parents of lower economic means with affordable quality child care. This continues to be Scarboro Day Care Center's purpose today.

LICENSING

The Scarboro Day Care Center complies with the licensing requirements as outlined by the Tennessee Department of Human Services. This means that the Center has been inspected to assure that it meets the minimum standards required by the state. This inspection is made by the local fire inspector, Health Department Sanitation Department, and Child Care Licensing Specialist. The Center received a rating of "Excellent" during the most recent evaluation by the state licensing agency. The Center's "report card" from the state is on display at all times in the director's office.

ENROLLMENT

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

An enrollment application form and an enrollment information form must be completed before the child can be admitted to the program. In addition, a health history record must be completed and on file prior to the child's being accepted in the program. Additional information will be required shortly after enrollment. There is a $5.00 application processing fee. Click Here to download application and information forms.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

The Scarboro Day Care Center maintains a sliding scale for tuition fees. Verification of family situations determines the fee. The center is a participant Douglas-Cherokee Certificate Program.
