| Math's a Problem? Go Fishing! (K-2) by Kathie Stevens-Hatfield, Farragut Primary Literature is a wonderful vehicle for teaching problem solving. Hands-on strategies will be explored based on a "fishing"them. |
| Be a Tour Guide for Reading (K-3) by Emily Hutchinson and Miranda Timmerman, Norwood Elementary We will look at guiding reading activities for before, during, and after reading, forcusing on decoding, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. |
| Daily News (K-2) by Brooke Maner, Farragut Primary We will use ideas, examples and routines to make Daily News a vital component of classroom literacy and student success. |
| Tracking New Trails (K-2) by Sally McLemore, Hardin Valley Elementary Ideas for cross curricular centers will be introduced and demonstrated to show utilization of these materials in various subject areas. |
| Deck Your Room with Music, Music (K-5) by Doris Moreland, Sequoyah Elementary Come take part in activities that encourage reading and singing in the classroom. We will also see how the music teacher can help you with essential learning skills. |
| New Books 2003-05 (K-2) by Emagene Reagan, Sevierville Primary Come hear about some of the newest books and how you might use them with your curriculum. You will be given a handout of the list of books presented. |
| Writing and Graphic Organizers (3-5) by Cory Tomlinson, Hardin Valley Elementary Using the Knox County Language Arts Curriculum to focus on writing, you will be shown how to use graphic organizers to help students write. Writing materials to help teachers plan and instruct during writing lessons will be provided. |
