Solutions to Issues of Concern to Knoxvillians
Solutions to Issues of Concern to Knoxvillians is
a grassroots social justice organization that seeks to unite
diverse people, regardless of their age, race, gender, sexual
orientation, disability, income, or background, to work for changes
on issues of common concern.
Located at 3204 E. Magnolia Ave in Knoxville Tennessee, Solutions harnesses
the power of organized citizenship to influence polices that
effect Knoxvillians on both the local and state level.
Solutions is a democratic organization run by its members.
Members meet to talk to each other, hear the concerns of other
community members, and choose the issues Solutions works
on. Members also elect the Board of Directors. When Solutions decides
to work on a particular issue, the members and staff form a committee
to decide the organization's position on that issue and develop
a strategy for building people's power and bringing about change.
All members are invited to join these committees.
Solutions is a direct-action organization. Our primary
mission is to organize low and moderate-income people to get
our voices heard and win changes in the policies of governments
and businesses. Solutions has a long history of uniting
individuals, families, neighborhoods, and organizations in working
on solutions to issues that affect us.
