Mission
Statement
The
Sunrise Foundation is a private non-profit foundation that seeks to improve
the quality of life for individuals and communities by supporting non-profit
organizations in the areas of health education, religious-supported community
services, educational programs and human services.
Limitations
East
Tennessee area, primarily Knox County and surrounding counties
Qualifications
Grants
to qualifying non-profit 501(c)(3) and 170(c) organizations are available
for special programs and projects.
Grants will not be awarded to support deficit operating budgets, capital campaigns and salaries. Deadlies are March 15th and September 15th.

Sunrise Foundation contributes only to preselected organizations.
Unsolicited proposals are not accepted.

Programs
assisting women in rebuilding their lives, especially those that target
areas in which employment skills are improved.
Health
resources that provide education and availability of service to the community.
Non-profit
community service organizations committed to the improvement of the quality
of life for the individual they serve.
Other
educational programs that fit the criteria for eligibility.

Evaluation
Criteria
How does the program
serve the community?
What
is the program’s expected benefit to the community?
Does
the program meet needs not adequately provided by government agencies?
What
are the characteristics of the intended beneficiaries?
Does
the program’s budget appear reasonable in regard to the proposed program?
How
will the funds be allocated? (Funds
are not intended to be spent on operating budget.)
Does
the organization have the experience and ability to follow through?
