Last Week we had an Inter-Club visit
from the Tellico Village Kiwanis Club composed of Dick Cross, Paul
Thornton, Jim Poole and Al Porell. I have had no reports of any of our
visits.
NOTES: Last week school was out for
Spring Break and there were no Key Club nor Builders Club members
present.

The
Board of Directors met Tuesday, the 23rd. at SHA, and heard
the Treasurer report
Pan Cake breakfast will
net over $1,200 and more when all the ticket sales money is turned in.
The Board approved several written requests for funds: $175 to continue
the Kiwanis Sign at the High School Baseball and Softball field, $50 to
the Sweetwater Fire Department to buy supplies for Fire Prevention Week;
and $25 to the Monroe County Rescue Squad for supplies.
The Membership and Attendance Contest will run from March 1 through
April 30, with

Two weeks ago one to Madisonville – names
are not available; and on February 17, President Susie, Bobbie Davis,
Bettie Wilson, and Ivan Worrell went to
the Tellico Village Club; and that night President Susie, Howard
Clutter, Lt-Gov Jimmy Nokes, and Jack Swann visited the
Oak Ridge Club and claimed credit for two visits, (over 50 miles). There
will be many more in March and April because of the contest beginning
March 1. (Lets try to out do the Tellico Village Club.)

Hospital meeting room. A
quorum was present and they approved the reports of the Treasurer and of
the Secretary.
Committee reports came
next and produced lots of interest and discussion: For example a
Membership and Attendance Contest will run from March 1 through April 30,
with three teams, to be led by 1-Tonya Burke,
2-Charles Ridenour and 3-Jack Swann; a Golf Tournament is being planned
at the Spring Brook Country Club, April 14. The Road Block for the

Lt-Gov Jimmy Nokes held a
Division 4 Council Meeting at Clinton
on Saturday, January 17, 2004. With him from Sweetwater he had

Lt.-Governors Howard Clutter and Harris
Lovingood and Past Governor Charles Ridenour. It was over 50 miles, one
way, and we get credit for two Inter-Club meetings.

Shan Harris from the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce outlined an
exciting program for the Chamber for 2004.

The Board of Directors of
our Club with the Officers and
lots of the Committee Chairmen met at the Sweetwater Hospital Conference Room Tuesday, Jan. 27, for
the January meeting. There were lots of reports on what is happening and
being planned, Here are just some of the high-lights; we need to have
another Dove Hunt next Year, our Project account is down, even though we
did well with the Cheese and Pie Sales, both of them only made about one
third of what we get from the Dove Hunt. A search is under way for a good
place for to have it. We are planning to have a Pan Cake Breakfast this
Spring at an appropriate time. Other plans are in the works.

brought several animals, including a “corn” snake, three-toed box
turtles, a fat tailed gecko, and a puff dragon to display. Last year
schools from five states brought a total of 4000 students for study. The

The December Board Meeting
regularly scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of the month met on
the 3rd Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the SHA meeting room., with good
reports and some action.
Week before last week
(Dec. 4) there were Builders Club members present at the
meeting named Karleigh
Robin and Abby Sharp, and the Key Club members present were Sarah Farley
and Ruby Robinson. Now for last week (Dec. 11) I need help – Ralph said
he had their names and I took their pictures but when I asked Ralph for
their names, and he had given them away to the students for the
introductions.

Charge Account and financing help from TVA employees at the Watt’s Bar
Nuclear Plant.

LAST WEEK: Allen Scott, a CPA who lives in
Sweetwater, brought us up to date on the effects of the changes in the
income tax laws.
THIS WEEK: Sweetwater
Elementary School will
present a Christmas Program with Music.
The educator is Betti
Wilson who will speak about “What is Young Children
Priority One?
The Kiwanis Twister is Ivan
Worrell.

Christmas Program - Keith and Anne Wheeler will bring the Program.

Last week there (Dec. 4)
there were Builders Club and Key Club members present but our editor lost
his notes and cannot report who they were.
The Builders Club is
having a canned food drive for Christmas Baskets. REMEMBER to bring
canned food to help them.
PROJECTS: Fund Raising: Pie Sales: Closed for
the 1st part, but pies can still be bought through December at
the same price.
Cheese Sales: orders were
turned in last week for the Cheese from the Sweetwater Valley Farms. The Cheese will be distributed today.

Our Kiwanis Club, with the
help of TVA employees at the Watt’s Bar Nuclear Plant, have given
Christmas presents to those in need for the past several years. Plans are
under way to repeat this project this year.

LAST WEEK: Was Thanksgiving Week. We met at Noon
on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003,
at the Dinner Bell. Members of the
Board of Directors had their monthly meeting at the same time. The
previously ordered pies were distributed.
THIS WEEK: Allen Scott of Sweetwater, CPA, of
Sweetwater will be our Speaker.
NEXT WEEK: Sweetwater
Elementary School will

sponsored by our club went on as scheduled on Tuesday Night, December
2. It was a great Parade. Thanks
to Charles and Harris and to all who helped in any way to make this
parade such a great start to the holiday season.
