MY FIRST AASL” GRANT

Have you ever attended an American Association of School Librarians’ Conference? If not and if you meet the criteria listed below, you may qualify for a newly announced grant to help you attend the meeting this October.

Bound to Stay Bound Books, Inc., a leading supplier of children’s and young adult books, will award two $500 grants to members of TASL in an attempt to encourage professional growth and interaction. Winners will be chosen at random from those who apply.

I would like to apply for a TASL/BTSB, “My First AASL” Grant of $500 to help defray some of the expense of attending the American Association of School Librarians’ Conference in Pittsburgh on October 6 - 8, 2005. I am verifying that I meet the criteria below and that I will be required to document at least $500 worth of expenses incurred in attending this meeting.

  This will be the first national AASL meeting I have attended.                 My district has little or no travel funds available for school librarians.
