DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR HONOR ROLL

An ongoing recognition program for supervisors, principals, and superintendents who have shown support for the library media programs in Tennessee has been established by TASL. An individual who is nominated for the honor needs to be instrumental in the completion of some activity or support that enhances a school library media program. Nominations may be made by anyone aware of the activity/support including library media specialists, teachers, administrators, parents, students, or the administrator him/herself. The names of the honored administrators will be listed in the 2008 conference program and each administrator will receive a certificate.
The distinguished school administrators for 2006 are:

Patricia Prescott, Principal of Arlington Middle School in Arlington, TN
Jim Moorleghen, Principal of Central Elementary School in Bristol, TN

Nominations for 2008 should include a cover sheet providing the following


A. Name of nominee

B. Address of nominee

C. School or district name

D. School or district address

E. Name and position of person making the nomination

F. Address of superintendent and board of education chairperson to notify of the award

A second page should provide:

A. a description of the support/activity for which the nomination is being made

B. some type of verification of the support/activity
