Summer Camp

The Troop enjoys spending a week at Camp Buck Toms, Great Smoky Mountain Council's summer camp, which is located in Roane County, a half-hour drive from Kingston. We are scheduled for week two of camp, usually beginning on Father's Day.

We encourage parents and scouts to take advantage of the week at summer camp which offers a long term camping experience for scouts to enjoy outdoors activities while earning merit badges and advancement requirements. Parents of first-time campers- please talk with Scout Leaders and other parents about homesickness. (Parent Support groups can be arranged!)

** Troop 101 pays half the cost of summer per scout who met the minimum shift requirement for tree sales. In order to receive the early discount rate, all fees must be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the May 1st early discount due date. Late fees must be paid in full by June 1st in order to attend camp.

** Medical forms fees are due to the troop no later than June 1. Any medical or medication issues must be indicated in writing on the medical form; verbal reminders at the start of camp would help us assure needs are met adequately.
