Lynn Fox Local Storyteller for over 20 years brought the past alive in a one-man outdoor drama that described these men.
The event began with a Picnic Social -- drinks and watermelon being provided by the Anderson County 4-H Club.

during the filming of a TVA Documentary

A segment of a TVA Documentary "Built for the People" was filmed in July, 2007 at the UT Arboretum. It featured an interview with Marilou Awiakta, poet and author.
According to Tom Wentworth, a co-producer of the production, the documentary is about the TVA and its transformation of the Tennessee Valley region. It will premiere on the Documentary Channel next year, and will be released to theaters throughout the Tennessee Valley. The production was financed, in part, by TVA's association of retirees.
Marilou Awiakta has written extensively about the atom and the nuclear age after growing up in Oak Ridge where her father worked on the Manhattan Project as a supply officer at Y12. Her mother was Cherokee, her father was Scots Irish, and her work is filled with Cherokee wisdom about living with the awesome natural force of the atom. A complete biography of Marilow Awiakta can be viewed at http://oneweb.utc.edu/~tnwriter/authors/awiakta.m.html
Sean Fine is the director/producer and the sound recordist is Justin Weinrich.

The UT Arboretum was the setting for the UT Arboretum Society sponsored "Invasive Plant Workshop" on July 21, 2007. The event was led by Forester and Society Board Member, Jeff Holt. In an article appearing in the Society's newsletter, Branches, Jeff described the purpose as being to "help you learn to recognize invasive exotic plants in your yard, give you informative websites, and take you on a walk to view some invasives up close and personal." Those who attended would agree that his goal was achieved!
